Ford 8.8 from an explorer is reasonably priced swap and it should hold 500hp as long as you're not running slicks with a high stall. Lots of posts on it on the S10 forum.

Yeah i was thinking about it. But then I would need new axles or redrill the holes for the chevy pattern, and narrow it to center it and get a new axle and blah blah blah. I was really thinking about it but I just figured with all of the work i would want to have done to the 8.8 I might as well just buy a diff that wouldn't break even if it got run-over by a tank(Dana/Strange S60). I am really one for overbuilding unfortunetly.
