Check out 67-72 forum, there is an ls swap section. It is a pretty easy swap, I did a 5.3/4l80e in my 68 and the frame/suspension is the same as yours. All I can say is don't use the cpp tubular motor stands if you want to use any kind of stock manifold, they collide. You can also check my build out over there for a relatively detailed ls install. Same username over there.
