Default Trans help

Did a search couldn't find anything. Here's my question, I have a 4.8 motor from a 2004 silverado, I have the harness and ecu. I'm looking for a trans, 4l60e to be exact for my conversion. Which year/years will werk and which one will I need? I can't afford to buy one twice. Lol. Please any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I would get one from 03-07 siverado or another v-8 model car. My tranny guy told me that v-8 models have more clutches in clutch packs than v-6 models. 4.3 motor has same bellhousing pattern but lighter internals. A 4L65E has a better planetary set and etc. in them as well. I scored one from a wrecked 2wd silverado that been rebuilt less than a year earlier for $600. What ever you do tho see if you can pull the pan to check it for excessive clutch wear. It will be cruddy sludgy in pan. If you see shiny particles it has wear in the case may not work long. Good luck finding one.
