Default Ls2 conversion questions

I recently got a ls2 out of a 2007 Cadillac cts-v to put in my 1963 Chevy II wagon. It will have the t56 from the Caddy. Question is what all on the engine should be deleted? Pardon my ignorance as I'm learning as I go. Seems like Speedway Motors sells several delete plates to remove egr and other stuff. Please educate me.

I've tried the search function to no avail. Pardon if my questions are elementary but the only way to learn is to ask.

There's no EGR on the LS2. The LS2 has EVAP that you can have tuned out, since your Chevy II doesn't have an EVAP system.

Thanks for the reply Tipsy. I've picked up a couple of books and started reading up on the swap stuff. I'm a greenhorn as far as LS swaps go but pretty well rounded mechanically and have a strong welding/fabricating background. My game plan so far is to buy a Tanks Inc ls swap tank and a Entropy ls swap radiator and not try to reinvent the wheel. I wish I had someone close that would work with me on the wiring harness as I think I can do it but someone with experience and more confidence would be nice.I've got the two biggest pieces of the puzzle out of the way(engine/tranny) now got to save more moolah for the rest.

Yes, I hear he's top notch. I really wish they hadn't stop doing factory harness conversions.

Not sure if you knew the ls2 cts had a m12 t56, sane gearing as zo6 also requires different shifter, I had no clue what a m12 was untill I took my trans to get it gone through and found out there's about 5 differences in the trans

Good luck with your build, btw now more thing you may run into is the tach signal on a ls2 pcm is like 8v and a stock tach is generally 12v so you may need to wire in a pull up resistor to bring your tach Sig up to mach the tach your using or it won't be accurate.

One thing I like about the tranny is it uses the forward location for the shifter. I can drop a aftermarket shifter in the front location and have a more natural shifter in my car. Not sure of the other differences but I think it'll work well for me.

Yes it's a better trans by far(it's basically the factory performance version of a t56) it has zo6 1-4, carbon rings, steel shift forks, triple cone syncronizers , big 32 spline count

Overall a stronger t56,

I wasn't aware of this until I had the trans gone through and seen the m12 tag so I asked the tranny shop(a1 transmission) and he knew rite off top of his head (Randy the owner) the differences, , he was also rebuilding a ls1 t56 at the time and I guess there quite different internally
