Verify you have the correct pilot bearing, you need the ls1,2 style, the corvette ls7 is incorrect and will cause the problems you are describing.

I used the ls7 bearing cause I was told that I had to since I was using an ls7 clutch/flywheel. To me it looks as though the ls7 slave is bottoming out

The clutch does not determine which pilot bearing you need. The actual transmission input shaft does.

I don't know that I'll be much help, but I have and LS7 clutch/flywheel installed between my LS1 and T56 with no trouble. I am using the LS1 pilot bearing and the stock LS1 throw out bearing/slave cylinder. I did have to remove the shim/spacer that was installed behind the slave cylinder that was required from the previously installed Monster Clutch.

Which T56/bellhousing are you using?

Ya the guy at the dealership told men today that I needed an extension for my input shaft cause it is too short. I didn't get it together today but I will let you all know how this ends. Also to the guy who asked about my bellhousing is there a way to determine which one I have?

I am using the ls7 slave/throwout bearing. Could this be my problem?

Post pictures of your pilot bearing. As was said, if you are running a F-body style T56 with a stock bellhousing, you need to use the LS1 (small diameter) pilot bearing. It sits deeper inside the crank compared to the LS2/LS7 (large diameter) pilot bearing.

If your pilot looks like this:

then it is WRONG!

It needs to look like this:

Do you have a 98-02 f body, CTS-V, or GTO T56?

That's important too...LOL...

There are a ton of minor details with these swaps when people start mixing and matching parts!

lol, thought so too.
If he replies it's a corvette T56, I'm probably done with this thread.

Please also note that along the same line as everyone who has (correctly) said that it's probably the wrong pilot bearing, it's also probably wrong to be using the LS7 slave. You DO NOT change the slave nor pilot to match the LS7 clutch kit in most applications, you still use the supporting parts dictated by your transmission.

Using the wrong pilot bearing WILL cost you a lot of money in repairs if you have the large one pictured above for a C6 and you have an f-body or GTO tranny.

FYI I just used the LS-7 clutch kit matched with throw out bearing 24264182 and pilot bearing 14061685 and everthing bolted together fine.

It's a good general rule to never ask the dealership or any parts store counter guy anything. When you don't know what parts to use find the answers here or call one the the well known sponsors. If you had done that to start with your car would be back together and probably with a better clutch than a LS7, the LS7 clutch really isn't that great and has some design flaws that make it less than optimal for performance use.

The LS7 clutch has it's place, it just all depends on what a person is doing with their car. I've had one since 2008 and it's been great...for me...
