Default anyone have pics of how they connected t56 clutch cylinder to factory camaro/nova ped

Ive got the dse bracket on my firewall and trying to figure out the best way to mount my tick adjustable clutch master cylinder to that with the bolts having to go through the firewall and the dse bracket.

Also curious to see how others have adapted a stock camaro or tick master cylinder to the factory clutch pedal out of a first gen camaro/third gen nova.

Mine is in a 64 chevelle, but they are very similar.

Welded the tab up on top for correct angle on master cylinder.

Here are pictures where I am modifying the pedal to work. I bolted the DSE bracket to the clutch/brake pedal mount and welded on the pedal tab in my vise. Then I welded the DSE bracket to the firewall. The second picture is the stock 4th gen clutch master bolted to the firewall.

Here's a good thread for reference. I found that I didn't need a tab, as I instead cut down and tapped the turnbuckle.

BTW, I saw your thread at SNS... looking good.

Where on the pedal did you drill for the new hole? I finally said f'it last night and shortened the rod on my tick adjustable master cylinder and am pretty close now but its damn hard to see up under the dash with the master extended then again with it all of the way down to make sure nothing is binding all while holding the heim to the pedal!

Heres how i did it...
-unscrew turnbuckle from tick master cylinder. Cut 1" from threaded rod coming out of master cylinder(make sure to leave lock nut on the shaft before you cut it to clean the threads after the cut). Thread turnbuckle back onto threaded shaft.
-drill hole in stock pedal 7/8" up from top hole. I have reproduction clutch pedal from classic industries that had 2 holes in it for the clutch linkage. Most other members pedal ive seen only have 1 hole.
-bolt heim on end of turnbuckle into new hole.

Master cylinder bottoms out about an inch from the floorboard so i will need to come up with a bumper/stop similar to the one shown a few posts above.

Installing the heim into the top hole of my clutch pedal felt like it was putting a little bit of a bind on the master cylinder everytime you pushed down on the pedal and also bottomed out the master cylinder noticeably higher off of the floorboard.

I will post pics tomorrow.

Mcleod makes a bolt in wilwood setup. Works perfect on my 72, but they make kits for everything.

Your best bet is to take the adapter and pedal assembly and bolt them together on your workbench. If you are worried about the thickness of the firewall, put a shim between the two. Then find the place on the pedal that minimizes the amount of angle the clutch rod has with the bore. You can use a C-clamp or even vise grips to hold the heim to the pedal.

Yeah that would have been the best way to go. Problem is i didnt think about that before i welded the plate to my firewall.

Ouch, maybe you could buy one to use for mock up and then return it. It would just cost you shipping. If you go to Jegs you would only pay shipping one way and they are really good with returns.
