1967 Impala 5.3 swap, which oil pan?
I am in the parts gathering stage of a 5.3 swap in a 1967 Impala 4 door. I have the car and engine already. I have been reading this forum for a few years and finally have motivation to complete my project. I have done alot of searching on these 65-70 swaps and it appears that the Holley pan is the best fit. I am wondering which one fits best the 302-1 or the 302-2. Plan on using DirtyDingo mounts, V8 frame stands and LS3 Camaro exhaust manifolds. Any help would be appreciated!

The -2 pan might be a little tight in the steering area as the sump is slightly longer than the -1 pan and that could end up being an issue

Forgotten post
I just discovered my post from over 8 years ago. With some motivation from my teenage twin son’s we got this swap completed 2 years ago. Stock 5.3, 4l60. My son’s drove the wheels off it the last 2 summers and we are now freshening it up for 2023 Hot Rod power tour as long hauler. Thank you so much for all the great information that I have learned on this forum, thanks everyone for sharing.

Power Tour
Completed 2023 power tour and had a blast with my father, my son and one of his friends. 3200 miles with only issue being stuck horn button. Averaged 22 mpg with a lot of 80 mph on the
interstate. This trip reaffirmed my decision of 5.3 and 4l60e.
