Nice build, I have an 89 and got most of the stuff ready to swap in my lsx, but I'm kinda hesitant, how does she handle with the swap? I only got to drive my supra with the I6 in a handful of times before the 7m crapped out on me.

Can't really say,last time I drove one of these cars was when they were brand new years ago!(yep,I'm ******* old,and remember how heavy and oafish the Supra and 300ZX felt compared to the RX7 in 1987...) and up here in the Pacific Northwest the roads are nothing but a slippery slimey mess until about next June,so lately its nothing but feather the throttle and hang on.I say go for it since you already have the car,if you are willing to put some effort into it,shouldn't be a big issue to shave at least a quarter ton of unnecessary sludge out of of one of these lumpy Toyotas,with a warmed up LS motor,a reasonable diet,decent shocks and some sticky tires I don't think you could go wrong.I would like to take things further,but need to move on to other projects,car is for sale if any one wants to come up here and grab it...

Thank you for this thread. I really appreciate the ideas I get when creative people use what they have on hand to solve a problem. It shows how much you can do with a pile of scrap metal and a welder.

ill say this, ive been in the mk3 supra crowd for the last 11 years, they are awesome cars however the community that supports them is a whole other story. i left the supra community all of three times and came back thinking it would change but rather it got worse. there are good guys in the community but the general population is a bunch of cheap jackasses who haggle over **** even when they get stuff for free

hey i was reading through your build because i am also building a 5.3 swap mk3 and wanted to know if u could help me out by pointing me in the right direction as far as wiring in the tach and any other stock gauges u got working thanks

Toyota factory tool for stretching tunnel,along with a selection of BFH's.I probably should have stripped the interior and opened up the tunnel for more height,but this is a down and dirty cheap *** build.
Transmission and engine mount butchery,uses stock 4L60E cushion.

It takes too long to get parts shipped out here,especially with the holidays,so grab some rusty steel plate and get to it.More scrap steel
will be welded up to the stock mounts.
More gussets, grinding,de-burring and painting to be done later

Afraid not,it was so basic there was no need to.I just set the engine and transmission where it looked like it would need to be,hacked up some scrap metal and tacked it in place,checked the driveline for straightness,broke it down and welded it up.

some quick questions Hey I'm doing an mk3 Supra lr4 swap, how hard was it to hook up the original dash? Also any other surprises you could warn me about?

I drilled and tapped the right side head for the Toyota water sender,used an adapter for the oil sender,pull up resistor trick for the tach. Never got around to the speedo,but have read a newer MKIV electric one can be made to fit and work.
