Default Headers or early Bronco swap?

Hi guys. Looking for some help and or advice. My father and I are building a 66' Bronco that I actually taked him into doing an LS1 swap in. Just finished mildly building and overhauling the motor. Got an LS6 intake, hand ported 241's(may be swaped for some 243's in the future for ***** and giggles) ported throttle body and mild cam. About to start mock up on mounts and cross members. Have stand a lone harness an ECU ready to go. I would like some long tubes or at least some mid-lenght headers to complete the build to get nice power, sound, and numbers out of her. The frame rails are pretty narrow on the early Broncos. So does any have any recommendations on a set of headers that would fit the narrow rails without breaking the bank such as having custom headers fabed.

Thank,
Clint

I'll keep you posted. No help teally thuus far. Was considering the 351 headers welding to LS1 flanges but all 351 headers I can find for the Broncos are 1 1/2" primaries. Found one set of 1 5/8's that are mid lengths. But the other issue is that they are rectangular port and so are the tubes. Figured it would be hard getting that to match the LS ports.

I'm in the middle of a project at work that's got me working non stop. Once I finish that up in a couple weeks I'll mock up everything in the engine bay and try a set of MAC mid-length's that a buddy just pulled off his F-body. I'll post results when I get them.

Just run either the truck manifolds or the Hooker manifolds. Headers are a pain and don't gain you much.

I'm running some Hedman/Hooker shorties that came off my car. Driver side fits pretty good but I'm having a friend work the passenger side since it dumped directly on to the frame rail. I wonder how some block hugger/street rod headers would fit.

I'm currently mocking up mounts and cross members and all. Once I finish that up I have a set of MAC mid-lengths that came off I buddy's f-body that look like they may work. I'll post up results once I get them sorted out.

How wide are the frame rails? My Maverick and Rambler swaps are both 26". I used 1 3/4" BBK 351 swap headers with LS flanges in my Maverick, and 1 3/4" Pace 2010 Camaro headers in my Rambler. The DR side on the Rambler needed the flange cut off and rewelded at a different angle because of interference with the upper control arm.

Right at or just under 24". I was looking into welding 351 headers to the LS1 flanges but all the ones I could find for the Bronco's where 2.5" and I was afraid of how the rectangle tube would mate up with the flanges.

Driver side wasn't an issue since the motor needs to be offset to the passenger side to clear for the front driveshaft. Passenger side will be the fun one.

And I believe the frame rail is 23 inches and some change.

That's narrow! I'd look at flipping some stock manifolds for a turbo...

Crossed my mind also but that mild built LS1 will probably be plenty for that light little Bronco anyway lol
