1981 c10 6.0 ly6 swap need help
hi everyone im new to all this just need a lil bit of help. i have never done a swap before. i came across a 2009 silverado 6.0 with 823 heads its complete just no harness and ecu. so im looking for the harness now iv been on a few websites to get a harness im just not sure how to order it iv seen a few of them that can build me my old one if i mail it out for $275 or so plus ecu tuning. any help will help and lots of people tell me to run a 4l80 out of a 1998 2500 2wd any input will help

I haven't done swap with that new but from what ive read on here. I think your tranny is not compatable with engine wiring/pcm communication. the newer engines requirements a little different. something to do with fuel system needs to be changed and knock sensors? good luck.

thx for all the help so i will need a newer trans dose it have to be from a 07 up or 99 and up?. one other guy said he can make it for me if i supply him with the factory harness from a 07 and up. but then he said i will have to use a older style ecu i thought there were way differnt from ea other

You need a Gen IV E38 PCM 2007+, which is what your 58x engine came with from the factory. For the trans you need a T42 TCM
Look in 2007+ vans, they had LY6/4L80 combos (vans couldn't fit the bigger 6 speed trans the trucks and SUV went to) and have the correct control modules and wiring harness.

What he said, Call Jon at PSI. My first and only swap was a YL6 with a 4L80E, He can setup harness, EMC and TCM and answer all your questions as you progress.
