Default 99 Mustang Ls turbo swap

Always thought 03-04 Cobra's were one of the best looking Mustangs. So plan is to look like a 03 04 cobra bumpers and such. I'd like to run down in the 5's1/8 but still drive it around some in the summer.

The plan now is 4 link the rear and tube the front. Some kind of forged 6.0 filled Twin s366s run on m5 at the track. M1 to drive around town. No intercooler very small radiator to cool heads and top of cc. Will have a 25.4 or 25.5 cage .. Maybe it will be done before I retire lol

I've always liked that still as well. I actually have a 2001 v6. Any idea how hard it would be to do a 03 cobra swap, and how expensive it would be?

Looking forward to watching the build!

I'm doing pretty much the same but my car's a 99 v6.. Looks like I'll have more $ in cobra body parts / paint than I will in my motor/turbo setup!

Mine is a V6 also lol just noticed title was wrong.

I'll probably soda blast it and black primer it for now. Paint and body parts are high dollar for sure.

I had no idea the body parts were still really expensive.

Well, they are IMO... Probably around $1,700 for all the cobra body parts... If not closer to $2k

Unless you can come across a good deal (i never do)

Oh... You're talking about doing a full cobra swap... It would be cheaper / less of a headache to just buy a real one, for sure! Mod motors are big $$.

Got the K member in, was going to put the engine in just to measure a few things. I got the AJE mounts they only use 3 bolts and they are too universal looking. I'm going to get someone else's mounts that use four bolts.

Got the engine torn down it looked really good it must have really only had 75 on it.

Set the engine in to make some engine mounts . I was going to just buy a set from teamz. Well nobody would ever give me the measurement so I'd know if they would fit my k-member. So hell with it make my own.

I'll be deleting the factory brake booster for sure. Might notch the strut tower where the header tube is kinda close.

Looking forward to seeing how you plan to do the turbo setup, I have been considering using those headers on my build but wasn't sure how they would fit.

Have you ever used a manual rack on one of these cars before? Curious about how it is to drive with one.
