Default 1970 Chevelle 4l80E Questions - Driveline Angle

Swapping in a lq4 and 80e, put everything in and went to set the engine/trans angle to match the diff yoke angle

Diff yoke angle was 0.5 degrees

The best I could get the transmission to was 3 degrees. If I want to match the 0.5 degrees I will need to either hammer out the tub a whole lot or cut out the center tub and weld in a large tunnel..

Anyone ran into this problem? I moved the engine forward (about 3" from firewall) which gives the transmission the best clearance.

I'm using dirty dingo sliders and aftermarket motor mounts (talk/narrow)

Also, the guy that had it before me had a TH400 in it and it looks like he worked the tunnel a little bit to get it to fit.

The A body cars can be a task to get drive line angles acceptable. Your best fix would be to swap in some adjustable rear control arms. If your front drive line angle is truly at 3 degrees then your about at the best you can get up front.

Good idea. Completely skipped my mind to adjust the diff angle.

Hopefully someone can chime in with a cheaper idea though lol.. My bank account is pretty bruised and bloody right now.

Will this car be lowered or relatively stock height?

Do you have enough clearance to lower the engine in the front and maybe use the short mounts instead? Or will the inner tie rods hit the pan?
