Default Rowdy burnouts and loud noises: The LSX/Subaru swap project

Introduction:

Hi, I,m Teddy! I'm 19 year old college student currently majoring in high performance motorsports at the University of Northwestern Ohio. I bought my first Subaru (my first car aswell) in 2010 and I've owned it ever since. The car has gone through a few different phases the most important being when I WRX swapped it senior year of highschool. If you want to check out the car's past looks check out my rs25.com journal here: http://www.rs25.com/forums/f145/t173...ly-driver.html which I keep up to date too.

A couple videos of when it was swapped and running. A quick highwway pull with a big turbo dart.

And some parking lot fun. There wasn't nearly enough snow but still a good time.

Enough about me, time to let you in on the car. I've always liked v8 cars. My dad has owned his fair share of built mustangs and the want for a v8 car rubbed off on me the more I worked on his car. Throughout highschool I didn't have the knowledge or time to take on such an extensive project (Don't let me fool you I still don't). I wasn't planning to start the project until I finished up school but the 205's oil pickup cracked and spun a bearing so that kind of jump-started the v8 shenanigans. Now that you've been caught up on what's been going on with the car i can fill you in on what the actual plans are for the car. I'm still working out the finer details of the build but the key concepts remain the same.

Hopefully this weekend ill be moving the car from the storage unit into a more suitable garage. Ill have an update before the weekends up. Until then, enjoy!

The aftermath of the blown 205:

After dealing with multiple threats from campus "police" I had to move my car off campus. Apparently a non running car takes up a spot someone with a running car needs, because I don't pay to park to. AAA came and picked it up and brought it to my new "garage". I lifted the car two inches to get on the flat bed and still scraped the **** out of the rear bumper.

Its a single car 10x20 storage unit but has plenty of room to work.

Front body harness is labeled and removed.. I need to clean the garage before I pull the interior harness.

I also test fit the evo skirt. Looks way better than I thought it would. Just need to split it and make the mold for both sides.

Transmission and cross members are out

Front clip removed and I threw on a front wheel for the hell of it.

In a parking lot, in the snow? That is DEDICATION! How the hell did you get those tire beads to seat?

That was the coldest engine pull I've done lol. I bought the wheels with the tires. I'm replacing them with something in the neighborhood of 285-315.

It'll be a small miracle if this car moves under its own power again, but I'm in for progress.... Lol

That's the typical response from most people honestly.

I was your age once and that's how it would go for me...don't take offense...prove me wrong and make it kickass. You've clearly demonstrated your resolve with the parking lot antics, so hold true to it.

No offense taken. Nothing wrong with a little motivation to finish it.

My neighbor is doing a doing an STi swap on a 2 door RS, pretty involved, but luckily most of his will bolt on. I've seen a few LS Subies, but always in for another. Good luck with build, and can't wait for the final results.

Picked up my truck from my parents house while I was on break from school.

Its 99' Ranger, 4x4, 5 speed 4.0, no rust. Picked it up for $1000 with bald tires and a bunch of Evap codes. Spent $50 on some barely used 31" mud terrains and $10 at the junkyard for a charcoal canister. In the sun it's almost BRP too.

With the new garage we're definitely going to have plenty of time to wrench on it!

This is going to be awesome when finished, I worked at a Subaru shop for a few years did a couple motor swaps but nothing like this. Very interested to see how it turns out, are you going to try to keep it AWD?

I'm going with a t-56 and a ford 8.8 so no AWD for me.

Now that's everything is moved in ThatOneKid came over and everyone else and we stripped it bare.
