Going 4l80 or 6l90....goodbye T-56 setup
Changing directions with a build, getting rid of a complete T56 setup. Trans was out of a 2006 GTO. Clutch is a new LS7 Gm kit, and flywheel is a Fidenza aluminum new in box with ARP pressure plate bolt kit. I posted all of these for sale in the classified area.
That being said....has anybody put a 6l90e in their 64-72 A body? I loved the 6 speed in my 2008 G8, but i think its quite a bit of cutting to get it into a A-body. I've done a 4l80 before, its not too bad of a swap with minimal cutting. Not sure how bad a 6l90 would be, and if it would require cutting out the entire tunnel. I did some searching but read mixed results. Anyone have some insight into their experience?

Do some research before you buy. I heard that 2010 up 6l90 there is currently no controller as the tcm in tranny needs same ecm from donor car to operate as they are linked by vin# I'm not sure if there is a way around this yet
