Any cheap fuse/relay blocks out there?
I will soon have to start on a stand alone wiring conversion and I've been looking at relay blocks. They all seem to go for $100 and higher. Are there any cheaper alternatives? It seems like once I purchase the harness, relay block, looms, etc the cost and time of the DIY won't be worth it.

You can find some cheap modular units for fuses and relays. I used two 4 fuse blocks interlocked with 3 relay blocks.
Here's an example.

Not that cheap but is compact and has all that you need to run the engine along with available AC stuff and 2 fan relays.

yes thats it. I dont think $25 bad for it considering what a $20 bill buys these days. Basically it depends on how many curcuits you want for overall size of fuse panel.

Here's the one I used on my swap. They have several versions of the same thing, some that are bussed, or just partially bussed. It can be waterproof too. Nice unit. Easy to work with.

I used the current performance fuse block on my car. It took maybe two hours for me to wire up including depinning all the stuff I didn't need in the harness. It started right up with no issues. Been working great for 7 years. Well worth the money over rigging up some oem box.

Meh....Nice piece of hardware and it's new but very limited in capability. Why only 2 relays? My fans alone require 2 relays.

The Current performance box is an OEM box, they have just done the wiring (rigging?) part for you. If you can wire, and have a junk yard near you, then junkyard boxes are a cheap alternative to buying something aftermarket, and certainly nothing wrong with them. For those who are curious, the factory application of the Current performance box can be found under the back seat of Oldsmobile Auroras and some Cadillacs.
