Default Ls2 dipstick location

Just got ready to install the dipstick in my trailblazer ss ls2 and noticed a plug in the block? The tbss oilpan had a spot for the dipstick. I'm using a caddy ctsv pan and haven't seen any such spot? Is there any tricks on getting that plug out of the block w the engine and trans in the car? Or am I **** out of luck and have to pull the combo out of my chevelle and take care of that chicken **** plug?

You need to either punch it out from the inside, or carefully pierce it and pry it out.
Don't go digging at it.

I got lucky in that my oil pan is a 2 piece batwing. I ended up punching the plug down in mine and letting it fall out the open bottom of my pan while the engine was still bolted in the car. It was irritating to find out about the need for this after getting the engine in, by the way, so I feel your pain.
