Default Ls swap wiring help

So I am in the process of swapping a 99 5.3 into an 86 gmc 1500 we are in the closing stages of the swap which brings me to the dreaded part of wiring, we have had a wiring harness made into a three wire setup, I was wondering where I need to run the ignition hot wire into our existing truck, sorry if this is in the wrong place and thank you for your help

On an older truck like yours you should have a very basic main wiring harness next to the steering column under the dash. Approx 10/12 gauge wires in a bundle. Red/yellow/pink etc. Look up an alarm wiring diagram for your vehicle at the12volt.com forum and it will tell you which is which. You'll have Hot, Ign, Starter, and probably an Acc wire in that small bundle.
