Envoy LS motor auto to manual. Hello, I am looking for an LS1 6 speed manual to swap into my Scion FRS 6 speed manual track car. I have read that using a truck motor, assuming I am okay with the extra 70lbs because of the iron block, would be just as good with better heads, cams and oil pan. I have found a 5.3L V8 engine from a 2004 Envoy XL SLT, I am wondering if I would be able to mate a 6 speed manual transmission to this engine. I am able to pick it up for $500 with wiring harness, ecu and all of the accessories. Apparently it runs, although I will be pulling it apart anyways to rebuild. Down the road I am thinking I will end up going turbo with this engine and I am just trying to get my hands on something to start developing my knowledge with these engines.

Forgot to add, if it is possible to use a 5 or 6 speed manual on this engine. I know I would have to get an LS1 flywheel and clutch kit for it.
