I think they mean in general. It is if you have never done it before or are not mechanically adept. I've done a couple of swaps before but it was carbureted to carb., so no modifications were needed. The LS2 swap I'm doing now is my first venture to modification....It's been an education to say the least! Lol!

Yeah I'm going to use my same 700R tran, I found a speed shop and they saying with me bringing in the motor on my own I'd pay close to 3k,

It may be best to do what 1964 SS said. Replace the tranny too....to a 4L65 e. They are often sold together anyway. Don't get me wrong, you can make the 700R4 work with an LS motor but I think it'll make the swap a little more complicated.

It's not really a tough job. It's not any harder than doing an LS Swap on a chevelle. If it's carbureted, then just follow this article
http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/eng...#__federated=1
If you want EFI, then buy a 91-96 plastic gas tank and swap it out. Use a corvette fuel pressure regulator for a returnless set up. Use the headers that are stated in the article. I'd recommend using a 4L60E or 4L65E.

Unless he's swapped out the fuel tank, his '89 Chevy was already fuel injected. It either had a 4.3 TBI or 5.0 TBI. So unless the tank is rusty, I'd say keep it and get a better fuel pump and what 1975delta88 suggested.
Although you may want to stay away from headers....great power gains but they are a PIA! lol
