Default LS Swap Bracket Question

I have begun collecting parts for my swap. Most likely will be using either a 5.3L or 6.0L truck motor.
Going into a 2nd gen Camaro.

Now I see lots of swaps using f-body brackets and nothing the frame.

But I don't see too many, unless it is a Corvette pull, where they are using the Corvette brackets.

Is there a reason why? Will the P/B & Alt bracket not fit the iron blocks?

You have drill a hole for the PS pump bracket, and use the fbody balancer. Do a search on swapping brackets to a lq4/lq9 with fbody or vette.

The Fbody ps pump bracket bolts to the driver side head. The alternator bracket needs a hole drilled out to mount it. There is a boss on the front of the block that you drill out and tap to a M10 1.5mm thread. A advantage with the Vette accessories is you can get more room in front of the engine for clearance with fans.

Largely due to supply reasons. There are simply way more F-body LS1s than Y-bodys and exponentially more truck FEADs

FWIW, GM has a FEAD kit for the corvette drive for about $530, Jegs always has them in stock. They also carry a CTS-V FEAD which is positioned similar to F-body but shares the corvette spacing

Alternatively you can grab a holley LS bracket kit to match whatever spacing you plan to run and use a much cheaper alt. Still need the PS pump, pulley and res

vette acc - more room between front of engine and fans
might have a problem getting the alternator to fit down low
f body acc - little less room between front of engine and fans but still plenty
alternator fits down low with modifications to the plastic housing on alternator

Here's a pic of my f body acc on my 75 Camaro
