Default ls swap problem

ok I have a 96 trans am and I swap a 5.3 motor into it and everything is in and all but I have two problems. 1) the only way I can get it started is to spray brake clean in the mass air flow and then it will run. After I shut the car off I can restart the car and it fires right up. what could be the problem?

My second question is that when I have the car running if I hit the gas pedal the car act like it wants to die. But if I lightly ease into the throttle it wont dies but the car revs up to only like 1300-1500 and then stop and cant rev past that at all. What could be that problem?

Could both issue be cause by the same problem?

The 1st problem sounds like a dry fuel rail. When you turn the key, the fuel pump should prime for 2 secs and pump up the rail. 2nd could also be FP related. Put a gauge on the rail, install fresh fuel filter, check FP relay, etc...

I have a corvette style fuel filter that is brand new I have install and yes the fuel pump does turn on when I turn the key on and everything. I also have a fuel pressure gauge sensor install at the end on my fuel rail and have a gauge inside the car and when I turn the key on the gauge reads 58-60p psi with the key on engine off
