Default 02 New Edge LS swap

Hey guys just joined up. So for starters, I have a 02 v6 mustang. Here is the short and skinny. 4.8 or 5.3, th400 tranny, fox 8.8 rear end. Stock ecu for now. I know how I'm gonna mount the motor and tranny. My only problem is the driveshaft. Now I know I can have one cut and balanced. But I have heard somewhere that some guy used a driveshaft or yoke or something out of a dodge Durango ot dakota. Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'll post pics when I get started. Thanks guys.

I just took the needed measurements and had one custom made from Precision Shaft Technologies. But I've also read something about a dodge one working. I just wanted a new one made for me is all.

I didn't want to risk getting a stock something used one put it and destroying it. I'll be making pretty decent power.
This should keep my good up to about 1000hp. And it came with everything, yokes, etc. And fit perfectly. Didn't have to deal with cutting and what not.

They were very easy to work with. I just called them up and told them what trans I had and what rear end I had. Gave them the measurements they asked for and a couple days later it was shipped. Even came with the new yokes.
Trust me, I try to save as much money as I can on this build lol. I'm already double what I wanted to spend. But in the end, I'll have a kick *** well built car and I can't complain about that!

I have a build thread on here.
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-ls-turbo.html

I document pretty much everything for this build. But if you have any specific questions about a part or what we used, just let me know and I should be able to tell you or at least look it up.

So it's basically the same as a fox swap? If so, cool deal.

I haven't done a new edge, or a ton of research on the swaps, but they should be somewhat similar. Obviously different sizes of cars and what not.
Mine has a 6.0 and a 7875 single turbo. 4L80E and 8.8 rear end.

My stock drive shaft fit. I swapped a 4.8/4l60e into my 2000 Gt. I even used the stock v8 mounts and cross member. I used a GM yoke and used a precision ujoint part number 355. All lined up. Check my photobucket....

You will need a cluster out of a 98 and older sn95. The 99+ is canbus to the ECM. I am almost done with my car, pm me if you have any questions.

Basically they are the same swap, same aje k member and same basic parts will work. I'm using fox a arms, fox manual rack, fox rear end. The engine wiring is easy to hide in the fender to clean up the engine bay. I will have mine running when I get back from vacation. I am a few hrounds, wires, and oil lines away from a running car. Then I'll start getting the tune lined out.
