Hello, i'm finshing an ls swap on my 96 impala and i had this problem in my way from driving the car, i positioned the engine 1" forword with 2 degrees higer to to fit the stock ac and f body oil pan etc..

now the stock shifter cable is noticeably short, it's not reching the trans lever and the cable is tightened between where the cable bracket bolts to the pan and the shifter mount which is not letting the shifter to move the shifts normally more like without tiking. any way it very much looks like i need a longer cable.

i really hope to go with any other GM cable if possible, just don't want to deal with the aftermarket threeded ends,mountig fabricating etc..

do you know what other GM cable may work ?

the stock cable is about 3 feet from end to end, maybe i need a 3.5 only
