Default Mounting engine using cylinder heads?

Does anyone have any info or insight on using the cylinder heads as a mounting point for the engine to the body of the car?

I've seen it used on the renegade hybrid Porsche 996 conversions, but just wanted to see if any others have had experience or knowledge about mounting the engine in this fashion.

Here are some pictures of what I am referring to:

Thanks!

Probably work, but I would be doing what ever I could to not do it. Especially being that the weakest part and only down fall of an ls is the fact that the heads move around on the block quite a bit with power. Will it be N/A?

I would not recommend it. As already stated the heads aren't exactly a solid mounting location and you can't pull a head or replace a head gasket without pulling the motor. If you can't use the side engine mounting locations then maybe look into a front motor plate setup for an LS engine.

That's an interesting set up. What type of application is that used on, so I can try to search for more info/pictures? How do the accessories mount it? The only accessories that I plan running off of the belts would be the AC unit and alternator.

Do a search for LSX front motor plate and you will get tons of info and places to buy them. They are mostly seen in racing application and also boats.
