Default 07+ DBW Info Needed!!!!

Morning All,
My knowledge on LS stuff '06 and back so please help me. I know google is my friend and I have been trying find info, but I am bit lost being I never even put my butt in a 07+ truck, much less worked on one.

I am getting a complete drivetrain from a 2010 Silverado. It is 4.8 with 80K on the clock. I am guessing it is a 4L65E behind it. Grass was too tall/thick to see the trans, maybe a 6L90E... again I couldn't see and didn't think to get the vin# to run the info. I am getting it all for a great deal. It will be going in a '50 Merc custom. He is in the process of pulling all of it now.

Here is the question, does the E38 PCM control everything or do I need to get the TAC Module, gas pedal, pedal harness? Or would it be easier getting aftermarket cable throttle body and wire in the TPS and IAC senors? I would think the cable setup would be easier, BUT cost a lot more. Also I have never done DBW anything so I am unclear on it.

If it has 4L65E, the E38 controls it all and I should not have any separate boxes if my reading is correct.

BUT if it is 6L90E is there any other boxes, wiring, controls, etc. that I need to get from the truck? From what I can tell the 6L90E TCM is in the tranny, and a wiring harness runs to the E38 PCM.

I just want to make sure I am not missing something. I am picking this all up tomorrow and want to be prepared to get stuff it is missing. Any help is greatly appreciated and wanted. Links, pictures, locations, diagrams, info of any kind would be very helpful.

Thanks in advance!!!

According to GM:

https://archives.media.gm.com/us/pow...10truck_us.htm

The 4.8L in a Silverado was only offered with a 4L60...but in a van the 4.8L got the 6L90...

I do believe that with the E38 you will need a separate TCU.

Yes, the E38 does need a trans controller. 4 l60 uses a separate unit, 6l80-90 has it built into the trans.
There is no tac module on the E38, pedal and t/b wires go to the ecu. Steve

Grab the gas pedal out of the truck. As EFI said, it will plug into the computer and knowing you have the correct pedal is a big step in case you have running issues once you get things running.
