I recently received a mostly complete '84 CJ-5 running an '01 LM7 using the factory PCM and harness. The truck runs a vintage air system (Gen II) with an R4 compressor which when coming to a stop with the AC on bogs the truck down until it dies. I am trying to integrate the system into the ECM so that the ECM will kick up the idle when coming to a stop. I have added wires back into the ECM C2 connector at pins 11 Circuit 604 Dk Blue (A/C High Pressure Switch) 17 Circuit 762 Dk Green/White (A/C Request) and 55 Circuit 603 Dk Green (A/C Switch) and am monitoring the PCM with a scan tool to see the results. I am putting the appropriate inputs in (Ground on Circuit 604; Power on 762 and 603) but seeing no results on the scan tool. I am tuning with JET DST and am wondering if the "Type of A/C on Vehicle" prompt under System Parameters may have something to do with this? I have found no info anywhere on what that prompt may mean? Any other ideas as to why I wouldn't receive a response? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Pin 55 should be grounded, +12v to pin 17 with AC on. Pin 11 doesn't matter.

Let me look at that again but I was inputting on those circuits and seeing no response on the scanner; I am seeing RPM fluctuations and everything else but no response from inputs on the AC system.

This thread just popped back up. It's for later ECUs, but it might be beneficial (specifically post 10 re: AC Type Fitted).
