Default LS2 into my Z32 yehoo

What's up everyone, been lurking around on the parts classifieds and other pages long enough figured I would start a thread to document my swap.

I have a 1994 300zx N/A which I recently did a TT swap on. Have about 4K miles on the TT swap and everything runs great, but I'm just feeling frisky and don't really want to mess with the ole VG anymore.

Picked up an LS2 long block off craigslist with a spun rod. Had everything checked out at the machine shop and after getting a remanned crank and new bearings I'm starting to piece things together.

I'm kind of lacking on pictures right now, but I will do my best to get some more visual content and document a bit better.

Thanks for having me!

Are those Corvette wheels on that? Those look GREAT on there! Are they a direct bolt on if they are vette wheels like I think? That is a sweet looking ride, I REALLY like it, ALOT!

What does it take to get a LS in these? Who makes swap parts? Damn it, now your making me want to swap one of these too!

MOAR PICS!!!!

I'm not him but those are 350z anniversary wheels. LOJ Innovations & CXRACING make LSX swap kits for the Z32.

The300zxmaster welcome to tech. Are you going to retain the FS5R30A? What are your plans/goals? Cool to see more Z's joining mix. Good luck on the build.

Thank you for the welcome sir! I do plan to keep it, using the loj adapter, mounts, etc.

My initial goal is to just get the basic ls2 in and running with a good tune. I'll be running a vengeance vrx4 cam with their springs and push rods to match. Shooting for just a hair above 400whp.

Eventually I would like to do a light boost on this set up, but we will sweater down the road.

Nismokid beat me too it, but as he said they are 350z anniversary wheels, and I plan to use most of the LOJ swap kit to save myself time ad headache. I'm working on more pics, haha.

I was wanting to get a 92mm TB, but by one way or another I have acquired a fast 102mmTB.

I'll be modifying the opening of my stock LS2 intake to accept it as well as making a gasket to match. It will be something like the peak speed shop porting for 102mm TB's.

I'm not doing this with intentions of HP gains, but only to have the motor running. Future intentions of intake manifold upgrade.

This is going to be awesome. Only thing better than a Z-car is a Z-car powered by a pushrod V8. Keep us posted.

Got the oil pan on. Still waiting on the valley cover, so intake is just a photo prop.

Nice to see progress being made. LS2 Z-car is going to be freaking fun, man. Keep at it, I am sure it will be worth the effort.

Thank you sir! Once I get the old engine out I will make a concerned effort to take a lot more photos.

Forgot to post earlier. Discovered that my OEM shifter strike rod was pretty bent up. I attempted to bend it back straight, but nothing worked. I ended up ordering a new one for 50 bucks.

The bay is a lot more oily/greasy than I had first suspected, so tomorrow I am going to wheel her out and pressure wash it.

Pressure washed the engine bay and gave it a nice rattle can job after a bit of prep.
