5.3 Manifold question
Maybe switching projects, instead of the S-10 swap, I may just plunk the 5.3 into my GS California. So the dumb question of the day is......Can I use the LS1 Camaro exhaust manifolds without modifying them to fit the frame?
Engine: 1999 5.3 from a Silverado
Stock intake
LS1 Corvette cam
Stock lower end
862 heads
LH8 Oil pan
1998 Camaro exhaust manifolds
2000 LS1 Camaro SS Torque converter
Have the S-10 engine mount system, SS396 frame mounts (car has the BBB specific frame mounts that will have to be changed out)
Car: 1969 GS California
455 Stage 1 / TH400 / 3.31 12 bolt posi
2.5" dual exhaust
Still need to get another 4L60E, fuel system mods (new stainless line, tank to engine, when I built the car), Jeep Grand Cherokee steering box & related steering components. (have the Jeep steering shaft already)
Yes I read all the S-10 and A-body threads. Just couldn't find out if the exhaust will work or not.
Thanks, Jim

Either way, I will have to buy the Plug & Play harness, just have to figure out the way to go for now. Eventually, the Buick will get a 6.2 from a GMC Truck. (Currently 7.5 CU IN of BBB power!)

Thanks Joe. I saw that one. I will have to mod them for the S10. But trying to figure out if they have to be modded for the A-Body frame. S10 and G-Body are the same. A-Body is a little different.

I've used the stock camaro manifolods on a 1964,65 and 66 chevelle. It depends on where the engines sits. I've seen a couple that could not get them to fit with the motor sitting in the 1" setback location. I'm not very familiar with the 69 A body differences.
I do know that the LH8 pan you have listed does not fit the A body cars very well. It hangs down WAY below the front cross-member and will hit anything in it's way. lol
