Default ls1 Chevette

Edited this first post as I'm no longer looking for help to wire. Almost done. This will be an updates thread as the car improves.

Thought I'd add a few photos of where I am. As you can see only a few small things left. Unfortunately I can no do wiring. I've tried before and failed miserably.

Nothing special yet. Want to see how it does stock engine before I add any upgrades.

I'm in Middletown. There are a couple of guys here that do a lot of LS stuff. If you want, I'll show you how to do the wiring yourself. It's extremely simple. Trust me, I felt the same way when I first started wiring mine. Now they're fairly simple.

Thanks for the offer Joe. But at this time I would prefer to hand it over to someone who knows what they are doing than hack up what I have and start over with a hacked harness. If you are interested in checking it out closer and want to make some cash shoot me a pm and we can talk details.

Ive found some shops on the internet that do swaps but none too close. Trying to avoid making a cross country trip.

I wouldn't mind seeing the car, but I'm not too interested in sorting out a rats nest lol.

Driveshaft is in. Here is what the underside of the car looks like. Not a whole lot of room under a chevette.

With some help the car is now running and moving tires under its own power. Still some finishing touches before its road worthy.

First start before the MAF sensor was hooked up. ECU issues was trying to go without.

After I hooked up the MAF. Idles and moves the wheels.

Saw a bright yellow LSx Chevette on a Craigslist ad someone sent me on FB, would pics of that be helpful? I might be able to find it again and link it for you.

Thanks but the car is running and driving now. Just finishing up all the small details. Going to try to get some footage of it soon.

If you can find the FB link go ahead and post it I'm always curious to see others finished chevette swaps. Only seen a small handful.

Here's an updated shot of the engine bay. Now that the car is running I just need to finish tidying up the wiring and cutting out the excess by the ECU.

Ah, wasn't CL, it was an FB group and the owner was posting it. Clean bay and maybe he could give advice if you wanted. Can see more pics on FB, radiator is in the hatch?! It's a little whacky lol

Cool car but it's a Ford Pinto not a Chevy Chevette. I'm happy with how my car is in comparison to that car. I'm not looking for a show car. Just something fast.

Hey Darell, I'm actually about 20 min south of Cincy. I had the car out a ton this week until yesterday I really did a number on the stock rear suspension. On first driving the car it was getting some pretty bad wheel hop so I had ordered some heim joints and tubing to get rid of the factory soft rubber bushing arms on the rear. I didn't quite make it that far. I took a friend out for a ride and just trying to accelerate from a slow roll, the trans kicked down to first and once it started hopping I couldn't get out of it fast enough. So now that my heims have arrived I can start the rebuild. Going to raise the front of the arms about an inch as well. Should be back on the road by next weekend. This also gives me a good opportunity to fix/raise my torque arm mount as well now the driveshaft is in. Wouldn't mind meeting up some day and checking out your Vega as well.
Todd

Here's some pics of the damage. Was a long sketchy slow ride home.

Not the prettiest work but should be plenty strong enough now.

And finally made the time to get it on the scales. More than I'd hoped but not bad. This is with a nearly full tank of gas and no driver. Can't find the slip of the 4cyl weight but it was 1930# or 1970#.
