1993 Mustang Coupe LS1 Tremec 3550

I got the transmission stabbed today after wrestling with it for a little bit. Looked a little more at the clutch cable situation and it's just not going to work like it is. Not even enough clearance to get the cable in. I'm going to cut part of the problem header tube out and reroute it away from the cable. It's a bottom tube so it shouldn't be too bad.

I have full size tires on the front not runners. I've had Mustangs with manual steering before. Yes it's doable, just not my cup of tea. The car has a 04 rack/pinion, Maximum Motorsports hybrid steering shaft, MM rack mount bushings, and all new Moog tie rods. The steering is awesome in it. This is not just a drag car, it's a driver that has and will be driven a lot. AC, PS, has lots of sound deadener, etc. So I don't "need" to run power steering, but I want to.

My throttle cable came in
I took a stock Mustang cable and cut the cable off of the part that bolts to the firewall.
Then just ran the cable through it and tightened it down
That way I could just bolt it to the stock location on the firewall
On the pedal I just drilled a small hole
That end of the cable has a little "knot" on it. So after pulling it out of the casing you can just run the cable through the hole in the pedal and the little "knot" stops it
On the throttle body end I just used the factory cable bracket.
Its ok but I'm going to go ahead and order the Lokar bracket for it so it will look a little cleaner.
The wire nut tightens down on the cable with a little set screw and then it just drops in like stock on the throttle body
Also got the PCV stuff back in place, starter wired up, and pass side header installed along with the dipstick and pass side plug wires

Throttle cable install looks pretty straightforward, and came out clean. Nicely done.
Power steering is perfectly understandable for anyone who actually uses their steering wheel.
Having the four eye front end is neat. It is always good to see an old four eye mustang with fresh new paint on it.

Trying to decide between modifying the tube on the mid length headers I have or maybe unloading them and bumping up to a set of Kooks long tubes. I really like the mid length headers but they hit in exactly the wrong spot with the clutch cable on the Ford transmission. Like I said, I'm sure that was not something they took into account when they built the headers lol.

Decided to try something else on the drivers side header. I flattened out the side of the tube next to the clutch cable a little bit. I just "massaged" it some with a rubber mallet. Kinda hard to tell in the picture.
Then I grabbed some DEI titanium wrap.
Then wrapped the header. Wrapped it good around the collector, and up the tube next to where the clutch cable runs. I didnt want to wrap the whole header, just enough to protect the clutch cable
