Default Gen 3 LS1 swap into 2010 Silverado question

Hello, I recently acquired my old mans 98 Cammaro LS1 motor and i'm wanting to swap it into my 2010 Silverado. I currently have a 4.8 L20 with 40k on it, and i'm reading great things about how much they love turbos. My question is how difficult would it be to swap the LS1, fitment, wiring harness, trans mount up (4l60e), anything else important. I know i should stick with a gen 4 but i cant turn down a free ls1 lol. Thanks for any advice!

Sell the Ls1 and put a turbo on your 4.8.

Yep,this swap doesn't make a lot of sense the only real advantage is the aluminum block which doesn't mean much to a truck.98 Camaro 305 hp/350 tq vs 2010 4.8 302 hp/305 tq...

SELL IT!!!

You'll get a pretty penny for a LS1, people love buying names. Theres a reason people put 4.8s and 5.3s in their LS1 cars when it blows up. You will gain nothing but maybe 100 pounds and some headaches.

I myself would choose a 5.3 over a ls1 if they were the same price. Sell the ls1, swap in a gen 4 5.3 or 6.0 and 4l80e and youll still have money left over id bet

Edited *especially a gen 4 5.3!

Swapping a 40k 4.8 for a 5.3 or a 5.7 is not worth the effort. My vote is for turbo. As others have said sell the LS1 as they command a premium--unless you want to start a different project like a Miata swap. Then the LS1 would have a more distinct advantage.

The swap would be working backwards. Time and money spent on it would be time and money spent on something that would make a difference. Sell the LS1 and put some money in your pocket.

So after doing some research, im going to twin turbo the 4.8. Trying to throw together a parts/to-do list. Besides the turbo kit, what else am i going to need to upgrade. Im going with a HOLLEY MID-RISE INTAKE, fuel rail, injectors (80lb ok?), BTR stage 3 cam. Do i need to upgrade fuel pump? Anything else i should upgrade to at least get it running smoothly and not blow the motor under light-med boost? Im fairly new to builds so any advice is welcome!

Im not sure of the specs on that cam but stage 3 sounds like your gonna need a torque converter. The 4l60 will live for a little while but the weight of the truck and the boost is gonna fry it. And youll need a good tuner.

If your doing a cam, I would do timing chain, lifters, pushrods and for sure valve springs. All this stuff would probably be fine if you werent going to boost it. But boost has a way of finding anything thats weak. Especially your wallet. Have fun.

Yes, you'll need to upgrade your fueling. Once north of ~525rwhp you'll start running out of fuel. There are multiple solutions out there. Do some more reading and see what fits your budget and needs. You'll see how big this snowball is really getting.

Keep the stock intake manifold, it'll perform better than the Holley. I find it insane that people actually consider that intake for anything other than looks.
