Driveshaft Length
What is everyone's length of their driveshaft in a LS Swap 69 Camaro? Current setup is T56 with 9in Rearend. My current driveshaft is 49in long. Thanks

i hadn't planned on it being a survey. if you want to start a survey be my guest. i was hoping to get help with some ideas on what length the driveshaft is in other cars that has been LS Swapped.

I understand each one can be different. I'm just asking to get an idea of what others are. I don't understand what the heckling from you is about over me asking a question and trying to get input. This is my first swap, I am doing it myself, I want to make sure i don't make mistakes. Is that good enough for you? That is why i am asking.

Hey Chad, I'm not trying to heckle you and I apologize if I came across that way. I'm just trying to understand what you would need a measurement for. Any other driveshaft is completely irrelevant to your setup and is no help to you at all. You will need to measure your setup and have a shaft made to your custom setup.

The better question would be to ask if you are measuring it right. You said you got 49"...OK...from where to where? Was the rear suspension loaded? Did you have a slip yoke in the transmission?
Saying that yours is 49" and asking how long others are is almost irrelevant. Say you get a bunch of answer and they are all slightly different, then what? Will you doubt your measuring or maybe others have different engine mount set-ups or different pinion yokes (there are many for the 9" and some are longer than others).
We poke a little fun, but in the end we are trying to help...It's just the Internet...grow some thicker skin.

Things that would be good to know from the group responses:
1- Thoughts on diameter for power levels
2- Thoughts on material used (aluminum, steel, carbon fiber)
3- Measuring points (from where to where)
4- How to set up the car to be measured (loaded suspension, unloaded, does it matter)
5- Where are people getting their driveshafts from

Chad as others have suggested, everyone is using different motor mounts, transmissions, etc, etc. The only way to really know what YOU have is to measure yourself after you have everything installed, that is the engine and trans installed. I know this doesn't really help ya with a number, but otherwise its a crap shoot. Also what motor mounts are you using ???

Measure where your driveshaft builder says then take them those numbers. Nobody else's numbers will help you at all and it's unlikely the builder will care. If yours is in the car then you know it's in the right ballpark at least, and someone else saying theirs is 49.5, 48.5 or 53.25 doesn't really do much to help you. I just had one made myself and found pictures of properly-sized shaft/ slip yoke engagement to be much more useful than other measurements.
