is 4 gauge good enough for starter wiring?
I just ordered up some 4 gauge wiring and i was just wondering if thats good enough for the starter wiring. My battery is about 6 ft from the starter.

No. At the minimum I would use #2. It will handle 180 amps while # 4 is limited to 134. You may get a fairly large voltage drop across 6 ft of #4. And remember the currrent has to flow both through the positive and ground cable.

I use #4 wire and a stinger 150 amp circuit breaker with my relocated optima 51 battery(~6' from starter) and have had no issues. The car starts fine, even with the cooling fan running and headlights on before turning the key.
I had an extra 20' of #4 laying around, so I thought I would try it.
