5.3 Vortec cam,LS-1 intake Guys have three questions, Anyone found a good Hi-performance cam for the 5.3 Vortec truck motor ?? Does anyone know if a LS-1 intake will fit on the 5.3 vortec ?? Anyone put a LS-1 or vortec in a 69-72 chevy truck,if so what brand headers & number did you use ??

the truck intake actually works better than the car intake. and any cam that will fit into an LS1, will also fit into your 5.3. the cam's characteristics will be a little more pronounced in your smaller motor.

5.3 w Cam 2 customers have had problems with the LS1 hot cam in the 5.3. The Massive lean pop, can be corrected with time on the tune. The calibration needs to be a hybrid of the 2 operating systems, the LS1 and the 5.3 in one file. We have done it on a couple occasions. But not recommended . I would go towards the LPE parts.

I hear if you run the LS1 intake instead of "big ugly", you must switch to F body accessories, because the truck accessories wont clear the LS1/LS6/FAST intake. Some body feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.
