What powers the computer??
I am going through my harness (from a 2000 Camaro) and deleting everything not needed (hybrid), but wondering what wire or sensor does the computer get its power from?
Does anyone have a wiring schematic of the harness?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
O.K., now my new question: I need plug # 19 (ign positive voltage), 20 (Batt positive voltage) and 57 (Batt positive voltage) on the blue plug. Since I dont have the other end of the plug or know where it goes, can I just run these three wires as they seem to the battery and to the ignition? Thanks

also note for most purposes 99-02 PCMs can be treated the same (I'm running a 2002 PCM w/flash on my 2000 car)

sounds like it... but I'm not 100% sure , hopefully some of the hybrid/transplant guys will step in.
Regarding flashing the PCM , you have a few options
I flashed mine using HP Tuners (I had a 2000 and 2002 license at the time, now have all V8 F-Body licenses) The other option is to have a dealership do it... but they'll need it in a car (since they flash via the OBDII port just as the other software packages do)
One option is to post in the western section and see if there's anyone close by w/HP Tuners for a 99 and 2002 (2 license on 1 cable) and see if you can set something up to have them flash it in their car.
Realistically though... unless you have some tuning software.. i'd leave the 99 PCM in it (if the motor's a 99)
Since 99 and 00 had a different cam and LS1 intake manifold, the tune is slightly different (also timing is more aggressive)
I flashed to a 2002 PCM OS because I run speed density (no MAF) and the 2001+ F-Body PCMs don't have a secondary VE table that needs tweaking... however if you don't have a means to tune the PCM then the 99 OS will probably be a better solution

Sandking and I are building the same off road truck.So emissions are not an issue.We are running a th-400 trans.My question is,What is the minimum sensors and wiring we need to have to make the motor run? We want to trim off everything that is not needed. Thanks in advance.

I have a 99 factory service manual so I can check the connections when I get home tonight, if you don't get an answer.

on my harness I just ran the power and the ign wires to a fuse box and then just ground it. The only sensors that you can trim is the a/c, rear o2's, egr, depending on your tune /maf, AIT and I think thats it.

This is all that is left on the harness...........
Front o2s,
coil pack connectors and harness,
intake air temp,
fuel injectors,
map sensor,
tps sensor,
cam sensor,.
crank sensor,
ground on back of head,
coolant temp sensor, " for fueling and spark tables in pcm"
Everything else has been cut off, even the three wires that turn on the computer, those are the three that I need to know if I can hook those up to the battery and the ignition switch. Thanks, Joey

I've been wondering the exact same thing, and have made a word document with all i've found. Im not positive who wrote this, it was on this site, but here goes.
starter recoil spring I got the wiring diagrams from a chilton manual at the library. The harness worked fine so far. It is pretty self contained already, constant hot to the orange wires, switched to pink, starter to purple and get rid of the vats and it will run.
let me take a min to explain what that means (i know i wish someone did that for me first.. lol)
when you get a pullout that has the harness on the car, everything is connected except:
3 connectors that were underhood. (named C100,C101,C105)
2 connectors that used to connect under the dash (220,230)
so these 5 connectors are teh ONLY wires we're worred about.
in a nutshell... give ignition power to the pink wires, constant power to the orange ones, take off VATS, and it runs.
the other wires you hook up are just gauge wires, reverse lights, ect.... nothing hard.
its ALMOST a stand alone harness already... only diff is it will have a couple extra wires left after its hooked up.. not a big deal..
theres one more wire not listed there.. its a thick purple wire that goes to the starter.
when it gets +12v, the starter turns the motor over.
My harness isnt butchered yet, so this is what i was looking for, hope it helps you,
