pic's of the fuel tank so far.
took these after I filled it with water to check for leaks, "not single leak to my surprise but I took my time and laid the bead down thick. Itweighed 290 pounds though. It's super stiff also.
waiting on the filler neck to arrive before I weld the top on.

thats total with water. thats a difference between 6 for gas and 8 for water.
I think the tank weighed 35lbs and 230lbs of water. so it was more like 265.
should be just over 200lbs with gas..
I'll only be filling it full on those long trips from houston to California or the first trip down to the FL keys.

Silly question....
What's the piece of material that runs side to side? Is it welded to the bottom of the tank? If so, how does gas get to the pump....

Id put some holes in it though, let fuel pass thru it, but still keeps fuel near the pickup

Look a little closer
That would be a baffel. The holes ? " one in each corner " and the bottom has 16th inch gap
It's welded on the sides and 12 inches of the middle.
The fuel has plenty of room, "more flow than the car will need at WOT"
Filler neck should be here friday then it will be finished.

ok....yeah, a 1/16th inch gap is pretty small, but should be more than enough for fuel to slip by and feed the pump. But couldn't tell from the pics whether there was a gap or if it welded along the length.
Looks good to me....
