LT1 to LS1
i have a 93 T/A , i am going to take my 408 stroker out of my vette, in my T/A to make a 9 second drag car, IE my TA better platform, the T/a has a 383 right now, and the computer and harness has been converted to 94 harness. what is intailed in converting the wiring harness over to the ls1 harness, i know the rest of the mechanical install is pretty much straight forward swaps, but i am kinda nervous in doing the wiring converting it over.

conversion
I just finished the same swap. I used a Ls1 harness and my 93 LT1 harness and spliced them where necessary. I did not repin the three connectors just cut, soldered connections. It is easy to find the connector pins at shbox.com - that is where I got a lot of info from and also from alldata at work. Let me know if you have any questions. I just fired my Ls1 up today.

use an LS1 harness. the motor harness is seperate from the body. just buy a used LS1 or speartech or something of the sort harness... i wouldnt screw with the LT1 harness... sell it or use it with the LT1

you do NOT need the 97 vette rails.
use the normal LS1 rail that everyone else uses..
anyhoo, the LT1->LS1 swap isnt too hard, just start with a 99 to 02 Fbody harness.. the two connectors (blue and white, non-metri-pack) that go into the car need to be repinned.
the coolent temp sensor for the gauge needs to be put in the passenger side head, and pinned to one of thoes two connectors.
the 3 underhood connectors can hookup to existing underhood wiring.
you'll need HPtuners or some other software to delete the codes you'll throw, (mostly emissions stuff) and to reflash the tach output to match the tach in your car.
thats about it, other then tracing down a intermittant crank sensor wire, it only took us one day to wire up a LT1 car for a LS1.

[QUOTE=Jones'n] yea, i was thinking that after i posted it.... you're probly right.
afterall, they do use the same pins as other sealed metri-pack ones....
ive never had to lookup the actual connectors.

I could be wrong, but I think they are Metri-pack connector. Just not the sealed kind. Metri-pack 150

Use the lt1 harness and the Ls1 harness and combine them, you will need the following: rack and pinion, steering shaft, k-member, power steering lines (if p/s is used), custom a/c lines (if used) and a lot of time. The radiator can be used if the driver's lower bypass line is plugged. If you have any questions pm me.
