Default Wiring up my Monza, a few questions

I'm finishing up my swap. It's a 98 LS1 into my 78 Monza 2+2. My questions are:

Thick purple wire from starter - this gets switched 12v ?

The positive battery cable on the Camaro had another wire running to the alternator that was black - What is this for?
Thanks,

Bill

Default

the purple wire on the starter should go to a relay activated by the momentary part of your ignition switch

the black wire that went to the alternator goes to the stud on the back so it can charge the battery.
