Default another turbocharged ls1/sn95 mustang build....tell me what you think

well here is my setup. pretty budget build. its a 98 cobra with 25,000 miles on it(yeah i know, cutting up a 25 thousand mile cobra really pisses off the ford guys...lol) here is the specs on it. give me some ideas on it if you got them.

10 point chromoly cage
through the floor subframe connectors
anti roll bar
built 8.8 with moser 35 spline axles, full spool with 9" ends and 3.27 gears
th350 with 3600 tci stall
lq4
vic jr
918's with z06 cam
pa k-member and a-arms
qa1's all around
ss machine upper and lowers
mpt70 turbo with .96 ar
a2a intercooler
aeromotive a1000 pump
a1000 regulator
fuel cell and -10 fuel lines
drag lites with hoosiers 28x10.5
looking for about 2800lb race weight

i know i need a bigger turbo for a 6.0L but i had bought this unit for a 5.3 that was going to go in the car to begin with. i will probally upgrade a a pt88 and forged guts this coming winter.

ill try to get some pics of the cage and rest of the car this week. i would like to thank jeff at Purple Hayes performance in herrin il for the cage and suspension work. did a great job.

ummm, i think i had about 700 bucks in the rearend.

35 spline axles with 5/8 studs
9" ends
spool
stock gears
girdle cover

that price was labor included for setting up the gears and putting on the ends.

Looking pretty good, what water pump is in the first couple of pics? Looks like the LS2 pump. I'm doing a very similar car, if you need any help shoot me a PM.

I am in the middle of doing a 98 GT with a 347 T76 setup. Where are you mounting your turbo, and what size downpipe are you going with? I am using 3" DP and 3" cold side piping going to a Accufab 90mm TB, and a Victor jr. Your setup looks nice, but you will be wanting a bigger turbo.

You definitely need either a 4" downpipe or 3.5" and a pair of external wastegates with external dumps. 3" isn't enough for a v8, the backpressure would be crazy.

This is a travesty... should have turboed the stock DOHC motor which can make 1000hp easily with forged internals.

i love this **** right here. lol. car was a roller when i got it. but, i dont like ford motors. just like the mustangs looks, light weight, and good rearend, and good suspension setups.

phil, i posted on your build, i have been watching it since you started, you are going to have a sweet car. i am mounting the turbo right were i have it in the pics(in the grille). i am using a 22x19 dual core radiator and taurus fan setup. im going to try to run a 4" dp. just so i wont have to redo it later when i upgrade turbos. i have done some measureing and i think it will fit. im probally not going to run any mufflers at first and see how loud it is.

are you rewiring your car or not??? i pulled every wire out of mine and am going back with a simple 8 circut harness. i know i shaved everybit of 25-30 lbs in just wires.

actually it is the truck pump that i worked over. took the neck out of the top, hole sawed one out the front, welded up the top and put a new neck out the front. also knocked out the heater lines and tapped and plugged them. i seen where you used the c6 oil pan. thats what i used to and i had to notch it about an inch also. i used the sbc pa k-member with adapters i built, solid upper sbc mounts.

Did you have any issues with the C5 power steering/alt bracket touching the truck manifolds on the driver's side? I'm having a small clearance issue - maybe mine could be warped? How close is it on yours?

Edit: Assuming you are going to use a C5 accessory style setup on the new motor. Just realized the 2nd set of pics were from different swaps.
