Default Power steering reservor question

I have installed a 04 LQ4 into my truck and my 1990 steering box only needs two lines while the reservor has 3. I capped one of the lines on the reservor so I can just use my two lines and this works well except that the red rubber cap that I put in the third line from the reservor leaks pretty bad. I think it is sensitive to the heat.

Any suggestions as to where I might find a better cap. Maybe a thicker real rubber one or something? Have any of you had to deal with this?

Thanks

The second return line on your reservoir is for the return from the hydroboost brakes that were on the donor vehicle. You could either get a reservoir from a truck that did not have hydroboost.

Or you may be able to find a brass compression fitting that will fit on the second return line and then use a brass pipe cap to cap it off.

Is it possible to use a high pressure fuel line cap and put a clamp around it?
