i saw a sweet 2nd gen camaro in super chevy this month and for some reason they just touch on the car but talk nothing about actually swapping one. i have a 1980 camaro that i would love to do this to. anyone with a ls 2nd gen please feel free to post up on what i need to do.

ya, there are acouple 2nd gens on here. I am just starting mine on my 79 Z. So far all I have is a stock LQ4. The shopping list is huge. Right now I am concentrating on finding a decent T56.

i have worked with al the ls engines when i worked for gm. maybe between you guys and soem guys at nastyz28.com we could compile a sticky for a swap. my biggest concern is i dont want a t56 i want to keep my m-21.
im sure ill need to either custom an oil pan and a few things. no a/c here either.

no need for a custom pan, if you use brp mounts. i loved my muncie in the day too, but i cant think of a way thats its better than a six speed.

I'll be needing some advice soon too.

Currently my engine (2003 6.0L) is in the machine shop, getting cleaned up. When it returns, it will get carb'd and I am going to drop it in my '73 Camaro.

the Camaro that was in super Chevy is owned by Jeff at Clasic Chevy 5 speed. He used our engine mounts and trans corssmember for his install.

My bad. I didn't see the post stating that it was THIS month's SC. The one we did was about 4-5 issues back.
