Default Switching to LS1 in LT1 car

Anybody know if the wiring harness from the LS1 trans am will work on the LT1 car? It would be nice if the main plug was the same but wasn't sure.

Lets start from the top.. are you trying to drop a LS1 Engine & Tranny into a LT1 Car?

If so, review this thread, I am pretty sure you will have some questions..

yea. We have a 1994 firebird that we bought cheap because of a bad engine. We are wanting to build a 6.0 stroker and put in it. This is a winter project. My buddy is payin for everything so all I have to do is help. He is also going with a rear mount turbo setup and a 9 inch rear. It's going to be quite the runner if we can make the wiring all work.

Merv

What did you or how did you adapt your LT-1 Pcm plugs to the LS1 Style?
Did you just repin your harness? I am looking at Dropping in a LSX into my 93Z, but I believe I will have to completely redo my harness Due to the 93 being the old PCM/OBD1 Speed density set up. I am also planning on using a TH350 Trans, due to cost and strength reasons. So that may throw another kink in my swap.

You can't just adapt your PCM plugs to the LS1 plugs...you have to have an LS1 PCM...BUT, the plugs that plug into the body harness/engine harness are the same on the LT1 and LS1...so it's just a matter of placing the correct wires in the proper places....pretty easy, if you have all the required info...

if you go here: http://shbox.com/1/harness_connector_faces.htm this will provide all the wirings for the 93-97's and if you look in the LS1 Swap faq thread in this forum you should find most if not all of the info for your LSX engine harness...then it's just a matter of matching....

Has anynoe done this and got their a/c to work? I swapped a 2002 ls1 into a 97 t/a about four years ago, and have been running without a/c because the lines at the accumulator were different. Anyone had any luck with this?

I just re-wired a 1999 LS1 Harness, and used a 2002 PCM. The Neutral/Safety Switch doesn't work, I can start it in Gear..doesn't bother me, quick getaway..
