Default Stock LS1 power steering to older gear boxes?

We are doing a LS1 swap into a 1966 Impala. My question is can we hook the stock LS1 power steering pump to the original Impala gear box? The question is not so much about physically but will the pressures work.

If not what are my options?

Thanks

It will work great! Send me your email, and I will send you a drawing and part numbers for the adapters/parts you will need to build up the lines.

For a better feel, update the gear with something around 14.7 (3 to 3.5 turns lock to lock). You don't want it too fast on this car, but the stock 20-27 is pretty sloppy. New steering and suspension pieces will add to the precision.

Shouldn't be a problem, I and many other have done it.
You can either get your local tubing shop to make new lines or modify what you have or you can use SS braided / Teflon hose with AN fittings.

For the kind of work it looks like you guys do, the teflon stainless lines should be a no-brainer, and it looks great!

I used Russell for both the SS/Teflon Hose and AN Fittings/adapters on my LS1 pump to Chevelle steering box. Was very simple to do.

Is there any adapter that will take the LS pressure line to the steering box? I've been waiting for my guy to cut/weld my stuff for weeks and I'm growing impatient. There has to be a adapter out there somewhere to solve this!

If you go with the stock LS1 lines you can take the line going out from the pump and make a new hose to fit your steeringbox.

I have the HydraBoost brake system on my car and it takes pressure from the powersteering pump. They provide a AN-Teflon fitting and adapter to fit the LS1Pump.
