I set my motor in this weekend and started wiring it up. These are a few wires I questioned about:
Blue connector by fusebox
-yellow/black pin E VSS Do I need this
Black connector by fusebox
-Brn/wht pin G check engine lamp does this just run to gnd on the engine light
-Grn/Wht pin D vss out do i need this
-PPL pin E brake pedal tcc does this just run to the brake pedal switch
-Tan/wht pin J oil pressure do i need this if I'm using my stock sending unit
where does ign switch connect on fuse box
starter wire from inside car? where to connect

VSS- Vehicle Speed Sensor- You need this for an electronic speedo
Brake pedal tcc- You need this for cruise control
Oil pressure- You dont need it if your running another sender
None of this stuff will affect the motor starting up or not

You need to build a relay box for those. Lots of wiring info in the f.a.q. sticky. The starter wire will be the original wire used in the conversion car. You can get rid of the purple one.

Black connector by fusebox
-Brn/wht pin G check engine lamp does this just run to gnd on the engine light this wire provides a ground signal to turn on the MIL light, connect it to one side of the light and connect the other side of the light to a wire that is IGN+
-Grn/Wht pin D vss out do i need thisShould be the same output as blue connector pin E
-PPL pin E brake pedal tcc does this just run to the brake pedal switch yep, this wire should get IGN+ 12V until you depress the brake pedal
-Tan/wht pin J oil pressure do i need this if I'm using my stock sending unit no, this is not needed

I am using the truck fuse box. I had to cut it some to make it fit in the spot where the charcoal canister was but it looks good. Hopefully I can get my computer sent off in the next couple days so I can have it for the weekend. I'm looking to fire it up either this weekend or next weekend. Just depends on when I get my computer back. I deleted a lot of stuff from the harness. Hope this will solve my issues. I had some cables made today for my battery power to the fuse box and to the alternator. I made them long enough to stretch from the passenger side where the battery is to the driver side where the fuse box and alternator is. Now I need to find a transmission so I will be able to drive it.

I posted the info about hooking up the IGN wire in your other thread, thats where I remembered that you were using a truck harness.

I have the info for a 2005 5.3 from a suburban. What year is yours? Are you using the fly by wire. I connected my ignition switch output(ignition on) wire at pin A9 on the grayconnector (C1) of the underhood fuse box. This should trip the ignition relay. Make sure you get Battery+ power to your junction block or whatever sends power to the ignition switch though. There also will be a problem with power to the transmission if using the 4l60e. You have to get power to its circuit which is pin E11 on C2. I did this on mine by running a wire from pin A7 connector C1( the gray one) to pin C9 on connector C1. That gives ignition power to tranny. Good luck. These pins are different for other years.

eagleuh1 I have a 1999. Will I need to power up my tranny on this one like that as well? I thought the trans would be powered though already. I'm glad I found out now rather than later when I couldn't shift my trans. Could anyone verify the way I could hook up my trans power. Is E11 on C2(black connector?) the same for 1999 and 2005? If not where would I power it up at?

I doulbt they'll be the same pinouts. For some reason they send power from the inside fuse box on 2005 to the UFB to power the tranny circuit. Jeepin Pete pointed this out to me. My pinouts were different than his and his was like 2003 5.3. Pin E11 on C2(black connector on UFB) is circuit 1020. I powered it with an ignition on source wire I wasn't using on my fuse box. I highly recommend getting an account with ALLDATA.com for wiring schematics, connector views and pinouts for your engine vehicle and recipient vehicle. I sat down and looked all my wiring and basicly figured a lot out with help from members as well. Good luck.
