No..you need a different Imput Shaft, and Bell Housing. The Clutch Hydraulics are different also.

Here is a thread that I have made for the swap I am doing..

In my opinion, an LT1 isn't a sleeper. Maybe if it had a single exhaust and sounded like a V6 and debadged, but other than that, around here that would do fairly well.

really IMO the swap isnt worth it, if your goin to put 2-3 K in a swap why not just get a nice h/c package or something and you will end up with more power then if you were to just swap a LSx engine in there

not to be rude but i dont see how the lt1 body looks better and in my opinion a fast car needs to look fast. Who wants a sleeper...sleeper= shitty appearance

I say that partially in refrence to mine, and what is goin in it compared to what everyone else around here knew it as..

You obviously prefer the new style, I prefer the older one. Fast Car doesn't necessarily need to look fast, hence the term "sleeper"

Think about this..would most people **** with the Car that looks fast, or the one that is known to be quick, but not anything special..

Not to get off topic, but I don't think any camaro could be considered a sleeper. Some models look better than others, but if I were building a "sleeper", the last thing that I would use would be a camaro. I just think that f-bodies were meant to go fast and look fast. If you shave all the emblems and stick with some kind of absurdly quiet exhaust, then you just have a v8 camaro that looks like a v6. I suppose it's just a different definition of sleeper for me.

I don't want to dissuade you from the swap, because it's your car, your money and your time and what you do with those three things is up to you. However, if we look at the situation from a practical standpoint, it's probably going to cost you around five grand (yes, it really will. Trust me.) once everything is said and done. A used LS1 f-body runs about 7k-10K and I've come across a few high mileage ones for even less than that. They depreciate in value real quick. Plus you have the benefit of all the components just working together right and it's a hell of alot easier to figure out when something does go wrong.

I know for myself I have a hard time saying no to the practical choice, but then again, what has practicality ever contributed to hotrodding?

yea i guess it's just opinions, id much rather drive a fast looking car and people know it's fast than have people think my car is slow

In my case that is not true. With over 100k on my LT1 I was looking at spending 3k+ to rebuild/improve my LT1. I purchased a 02 TA w/27k on the clock for $2500. in the end I'll have a LS1 for less that I would have spent to rebuild the LT1.

why not just buy an ls1 car?!?!!?!
because between the stereo, suspension, and other improvements, I've got a fortune in my 94 Z28 and it's got no resale value due to it's age. After I swap the front clip, I'll have a moded 98+ Camaro for less than I would have spent to buy one.

Well there you go. To get back to the original post, the m6 trans will work with a different bellhousing and proper modifications mentioned above. However, if you just buy an LS1 with the trans already, you'll save yourself thousands of headaches. Since both trans are 4l60e I'm pretty sure everything should bolt right up.

I am in the same boat as well, but I would be getting my motor/tranny for practically nothing....I have a 94 Z28 and to fix my motor and tranny and opti-crap it would be too much money thatn to just get a the LS motor from my friend.....My question was I heard that you can use a escalade motor or something of that nature because its bigger or something, can someone give me the details to the swap, pointers, or a link to a thread with it, i have to go ot bed and dont have time to search. i saw a thread about 5.3 v 6.0 or something...
