Default Nova on the dyno

I put a T-Rex cam in the LS1 and took it to the dyno to get tuned. I had my 30 year old stock driveshaft balanced and cut down when I did my conversion two summers ago. Here's why I wouldn't recommend anyone else do the same.

Ouch,

Looks like you need Denny's driveshaft.

It broke on the dyno in Ohio and the shop (Back Street Performance) recommeded a local shop (Henderson Industries) so I just had them build it. The new driveshaft was $275 and it's a nice piece. I wish I would have bought it a year ago.

Yeah, It broke the tailhousing on my tranny that I had just paid $2000 to have built. Luckily, we changed the housing, flushed it, changed the fluid and it's back on the road now. The guys at Back Street took good care of me.

ouch
the loop would have helped much where it broke. The loop has to be in the very front. A second loop is required at a certain speed

Almost looked like something scratched it or was scraping on it from the picture at the end of the video. Sucks that it broke

nope, no drive shaft loop. Had one on for years with the big block but took it off because it was hitting the new x pipe. It probably would have saved the tailshaft from breaking.
Prayhard, it ran 12.19 on a 228 cam last fall. Going up wednesday night to get some T-rex numbers.

Yeah, there are videos on my website: www.geocities.com/marksls1nova
The dyno was at a shop in Medina OHio. About 7 of us from Pittsburgh rented the dyno for the day, paid a tuner to be there and we all got dyno tunes. I race at Pittsburgh Raceway Park occasionally. Going up Wednesday night if the weather holds up.
