Default 97 ws6, trying to decide best LSX swap, LS2 auto, or LS1

I have a 97 ws6 formie and i want to begin my lsx swap. i have a source for an ls2 auto from a trailblazer ss, or an ls1 motor, i have a LT1 t56 but i dont think it will hook up to the ls1. would the ls2 fit in a 98-02 k member

You cant use that tranny on the ls1. I would go with a ls1 just because it is a little easier and cheaper. I am currently installing a ls1 into my 95 Z28

The best option would be an LS2 with the front belt driven accessories from an Fbody LS1. You'll also need:

-Fbody oil pan
-LS1 style steering rack
-LS1 Kmember

Is there a write up/how to you're using for a reference? If so, could you post a link to it?
Thanks
Dave

I'd go LS1 as well. It can make just as much power as the LS2 with a couple upgrades. You can then sell the LT1 t56 and source one from an LS car. I got my t56 with 50,000 miles on it for about 1k.
However, if you got some extra money to spare then go for the LS2. As far as the k-member is concerned, the LS2 should fit a 4th gen fbody's. You'll also need, as previously stated, fbody oil pan and steering rack.

Cheers.
