Default Motor Plate..

Ok don't give me a hard time but I think this is the best option for my car. I have a 89 Volvo 740 wagon, I am saving my hard earn money for a LS1/T-56 swap. Motor mounts are my biggest issue so I said hey a motor plate from Madman would make it easier. It is the same as putting solid mount in the car. Its my daily driver, and can stand all the vibration so that is not a issue. Right now it will be a H/C car until that blows, then it will be a big single turbo. Rearend will be a fab 9 with mini tubs, Chevy bolt pattern, and 4 link.

So how many people have DD a motor plate car, verse a solid mount car?

I think you'd be happier with stock type rubber mounts... but what do I know?

It is, after all, your car, but I've ridden in street cars with motorplates as well as solid motor mounts and after an extended period of time you get headaches. I'd reccomend stock type rubber mounts, but that's just me. Solid mounts or motorplates really aren't all that much easier to install. I mean, it might take less engineering, but motormounts are real easy to fabricate if you have a torch and a plasma cutter.

It won't bother me, I had a big nasty cam in my old Z28, it vibrated like hell. I lived with it..

Well with no tools it is hard, this is a cheaper way to get the engine into the engine bay, motor mounts will be more..

How much will the motor plate cost? You can get universal motor mounts for $90.
