PHR LS1 mustang swap pulls big mph!
Since I purchased this mustang I have done many things to improve the straight line performance. It has worked well so far
First time out with this car netted me some 10.30's at 133.
This was a major improvement from the best in the PHR magazine of 10.73.
My next time out with all new rear suspension netted us a 10.16 @ 136.
I also went to a 175 jet in the spray .
This time I have changed the car to 5 lug used clip elimintors and power slot 5 lug front rotors, and also used a friends NOS nozzle kit that goes under each injector. We also changed the injectors to a 42 lbs versus the MSD 38 LBS since they wont work with the NOS nozzle base.
Today I decided to try out some other slicks that I got on the wheel/tire package deal since changing to 5 lug. WE upped the jets to a 200 shot using this new NOS system .
Well lets just sy the air quality today was FAR from good to run at all . Humidity was at a all time high for runs with this car .
After trying to get the car to hook we gave up . It simply wont hook on the tires I was trying to use. Next week I will go back to my Mickey T's and try again.
Now the result.
Best pass and others within hundredths was a 10.36 @ 139.2 this was with a 1.75 60 ft versus the 1.47-1.51 normall 60's I have had.
I am sure I will be posting very soon that the car did go 9's and at about 140.
I predict a 9.89 will be the result.
I am so impressed with this car , cheap , fun , and reliable 9 second performance, How could anyone complain?
Someone will get a heck of a car ...when it goes 9's ITS UP FOR SALE.

You're going to need a chute for that thing pretty soon... It this through a 6spd? Have you had a chance to get it on the scales to see what it weighs now?

wow, that's really moving! i wonder what it would do with an auto? i missed the engine combo issue, can you post up the cam & head specs and what's done to the shortblock please?
for reference, my car was 2850# before i swapped for...
weld draglites & skinnies vs. 17's
11" brakes vs. 13's
fiberglass hood vs. stock
3# moly front tubular bumper vs. 30# stock bumper
armrest delete...7#! lol.
misc brackets, cruise items, etc...est 15#+
so i would say my car weights no more than 2750#. i'll find out for sure as soon as i can. this thing still has a full interior, although it has a pair of poly bucket seats (far more comfortable than most think they are for long trips!), they were in there for the 2850# weight though.
let us know when you get the car weighed what it comes in at.

About 6 months ago I started gathering parts for a stroker BBF(533) to stick in my 92 coupe. I had thought about an LS1 a couple times but shrugged it off. After reading Viennie's and lt4malibu's build thread on ls1tech a few weeks ago, I made my mind up that would rather have the LS1 in the coupe.
I have since sold most everything that I had gathered up for the 533 (still have the rotating assembly) and bought a complete LS1 changeover with a T56. As a matter of fact I'm going to pick it up in the morning when I get off of work.
There is something about running mid 10's and getting 25ish mpg that turns me on...lol Sure the feel of the big block torque is nice, but its a good trade off being able to drive this thing every day if I want to.
I hope to get a few pics of my car/build posted in the next couple days. I thought I would have a hard time finding a 87-88 turbo coupe pedal assembly, but it turned out not to be a big deal. I plan on building another car for my wife when mine is finished, so I went ahead and bought 2 sets..lol
Anyway, keep us up to date on those 9's!

What's up Jason? Glad to see the car's running as hard as it is. Diggin' those ProStars. I originally built it as a daily beater, not expecting it to go as fast as it had. Damned if I knew it would be bangin' on the 9-second door. Good luck with it!
And hey, we want video!!!
