Default Modified f-body oil pan, is the oil capacity ok?

I have installed a modified f-body oil pan on a 5.3 to put in my 69 camaro. The notched portion of the oil pan is approximately the size of a quart of oil. Should I run a quart less in the engine now? Will that be ok?

Yes, start with one less and then just use the dip stick to check for the new capicity of the oil now.. over filling it will result in crank seal leakage or the oil hitting the Rotating crank/rods.

Depends on what your are doing with it... for a stock 5.3, yes, it's fine.

For a hopped up high-rpm engine seeing a lot of track duty, there's been at least one member here who sucked his pan dry and trashed his mains and cam.

We are .5 qt less with the mod on an Fbody pan. Good pressure, no problems. Never spin more than 5K though.
